OK. Maybe l can do it for you…

Can you send me a photo of the chassis plate, showing the numbers clearly.

A pic of the cab shape too. Is it fibreglass or a flat front made of metal?

Does it have two piece or 4 piece windscreen?
Cab frame is wood (ash probably) or steel?

What engine, trans and rear axle are fitted?

What axle configuration & application eg 4x2 single drive prime mover, 8x4 double drive, twinsteer heavy rigid etc.

Post them here if you can or send to my email…. duncan4x4@gmail.com

Duncan, he is asking because there is no chassis plate. We know it is a 6x4, wood frame, 2 piece screen.

She's a rippa ol'girl.
I have sent a message to the guy in UK, lets see what he turns up....

This is my mk1 and plate.... She was hauling a fuel tanker around Benalla area l believe.
Earliest 'Preston' cabbed mk1 retained the 2piece windscreen as yours has plus the ash frame. Latter like mine (1965) have a metal frame and the 4 piece. I envy you as l cannot find the curved corner glass and repro glass is $5k for a pair.
I have a digital photocopy parts book for mine. Would you like a copy?
The ash frame is available to buy from UK. I can dig out a contact if you need ?
Gardner engine parts, (filters) etc are easily available in Aus.
The last pic is how yours might look with the body panels in place. Have you got the panels ?

Look forward to seeing yours finished. Mine is on the back-burner currently while l'm getting a RWC on a mk3.
Let me know if l can help
Duncan

I saved a airport tender cab from a scrappy for the screens. Is now in Brissy and could be bought at a reasonable price. I am assuming the screens would be the same size & fitting.

Apparently there is a number stamped onto the left rail also. Approx where a fuel tank wiuld be and its on the radius, not on the vertical.
Might be coveredby multiple layers paint so a careful sand back might find it.

He can give you the build sheet from factory once the number is found.

Pic below.

Hi Mammoth, Is the cab like mine with 4pce windscreen ?
Whats the fibreglass like and has it got complete doors fitted so l could swap it straight over ?
I’d be really keen on it if available.

Traditional radiator and a dot under the G of toughened makes it 1964. Still need to see what is on the other screen and rear windows in case there is a variation.
The "kitemark" is the British Standard logo
