Hi folks
Following on from my alignment issues I have been advised to change to 22.5 tubeless tyres.
I have sent the measurements to Mullins in Adelaide who advised that it appears to be one of their discontinued lines and nil stock - Road King 7.5 x 22.5 code 710-236.
Stud diameter across is 275mm, stud centre to centre is 110mm and centre hole is 220mm per pics below
Does anyone have any ideas where I might find three?
Thanks in advance
Ash

the narrow (skinny rims) are getting hard to find second hand especially if they are 8 or 10 stud but i believe were standard on coaches for quite a while. Tyres to fit are 10.00 r22.5 tubeless which are equivalent size to the 9,00 r20 tube type. Must be someone around wrecking busses.

There are places over in Yanky land that you can buy undrilled rims from

Now I reckon it wouldn't be to costly to land them here, there are people that you can pay by the square meter for containers coming from the States

Or there are a few mpbs thwt make very expensive custom rims

What about Jap trucks, they have 8 stud rims that are tubeless
Is there something can be adapted from there

Or adaptor plates

Hi Swishy

I have moved the rear axle forward 5mm by adjusting the block between the springs and axle. That problem is fixed.

After doing the king pins I bought lovely new Bridgestone steer tyres (at great expense). After visiting three Bridgestone dealers I finally got them balanced. The fella who balanced them said the rims took a lot of weight and I should piss them off and put tubeless on.

I am very particular about the steer tyres after my brother lost his leg resulting from a blown one.

Also, the pressure build up in these tyres is ridiculous. They build up at least 30 psi after about an hours driving which worries me greatly. U shudder to think what they would build up if I was travelling up North in the summer.

I'd love to get rid of them and feel safe and secure in new tubeless tyres.

Cheers

Ash

Hi Paul

I thought Mullins make rims etc so dealing local(ish) would be much easier.

I guess as a last resort I could look at the US as an option.

I don't know anything about adaptor plates.

Cheers

Try Mullins for the same centre with an 8.25" rim. They will accept 11R22.5 tyres, opening up a far wider choice of tyre and keener prices.

This would be my first option

The cheapest tyres you can buy, and I am not talking crap tyres, more that they are so popular so price per tyre will be good.

Huge variety to choose from
