Gulf are specialists in the biggies. You need to travel to the Cloudbreak & Christmas Creek iron ore mines in West Oz, and see a 365 tonne Gulf road train! .. these blokes even build their own trucks! .. not to mention the powered trailers! .. :o

Swish - Maybe you've had one too many amber slurpees .. and the eyes are getting crossed .. but the rig in the LINK that I posted (the KW_wallpaper_Gulf -1280 x 102 ... one) .. has 22 axles.

Maybe you were mesmerised by the big rig that's showing in the last pic?? .. ::)

Sorry, got no details of the BIG, BIG, 37 axle rig .. but at a guess, I'd say up front, is a KW C500 with a QSK19 Cummins, probably around 650-750HP.

Gday all.

Well this is a big rig... but

I saw one just outside Geelong with 63 AXLES I think.
I have the pics in the room, but cannot put them on until I get home. A very heavy 5 off 3 axle Mack Prime mover outfit with a multi axle trailer, pushed by 2 units and pulled by 3.

I am just about getting over what a madhouse Sydney is and I have been here since Friday Morning !!!

I am in Sydney now..
Its much cooler than Darwin, which makes a change.
Very busy and noisy in city.

I have no hire car here, as public transport is everywhere.
Ferries, Trains, Buses and Monorails. I have tried them all now.
Its an enormous place and all the transport systems dont quite seem to get you as far as you need to go.
To get to Circular Quay, is an hours exhausting walk, (Friday) or Walk to Monorail, Then Change to Bus... etc.
On Friday I saw all the main touristy things in the centre, and also went on 2 ferry trips, around Darling Harbour and then spent the afternoon in and around Manly Beach.
Today I am off on a train to Parramatta. To meet an IVECO man.

Tomorrow I am going to try to get to Bondi Beach, before the train journey to Melbourne on Tuesday.
Got to sort out how best to get there !

Back to Melbourne soon.

Cheers
RS :)

Make sure you check out Powerhouse Museum if you get a chance. It is sereved by the MoOnorail We walked in when it opened one morning to spend an hopur then go to the Maritime Museum. We left as the place was closing after spending all day poking around and never got to the Maritime Museum either. We had been told by several people it is worth a look too.

Supposed to be mid 20's and fine in Melbourne on Sunday. Should be great weather for a truck show. Would anybody know where there is one on? ;)

Gday All.

AW - took several but the way its positioned in there makes pics difficult (other things in way).
Will send some for you.
But I will now know a bit more about them as I bought a book at Point Cook RAAF museum. :)

Bruce - Back to relative sanity tomorrow (Melbourne) looking forward to the show.

PS I did say relative sanity.... Sydney is mad.
I think anyone who drives in this city must be bonkers.
Its as if they all learnt to drive in Milan or Rome.
The pedestrian lights go green but cars can still turn left and over a crossing ?? Whats that all about ??

Got to Bondi today. It was great !

See you soon .
Cheers
RS :)
