New trucks with EGR
I know its illegal, but ayy we all know what goes on in the industry with modifications. Usually in the speed limiter department.
I cant imagine that these newer motors can do the kind of hours/miles that the older ones did. Not with all that crap being pumped back through its guts.
Is it a case of leave it alone, or do people actually tamper with them?

Big gains to be had too if you can get around the computer detecting its not operating.
More trouble then its worth EGR.
AdBlue claims to be better, but wouldnt it get costly after a few miles?

It would seem that it would be pretty hard to remove it or stop it in any way

The EGR can be an absolute pain, our new firetruck (in SACFS, an Isuzu FTS 800 crew 4x4) has it, and a diesel particulate diffuser, and when it wants to regen, you gotta wait for it. More annoying when on the fireground, you can only drive over burnt ground, and slowly -_-

A chap was in our yard a while back with a new Isuzu council truck with the re-gen system on it. I remarked how that he wouldn't want to park in dry grass when it was burning out the particulate filter, the whole system was in a mesh frame about a foot off the ground. That is when he told me about the new CFS trucks. I have never heard of anything so stupid, what happens if they are trying to stop a fire in a six foot wheat crop and it decides to re-gen? I said to him, they will be lighting up more fires as they are trying to put them out.
RnR.

They do get extremly hot. I suppose once they've lost a couple of trucks the CFA will change the tender for the next lot.
