Can't have been too many of those Octopuses with sleepers getting about? Dave Kent is doing one up at the moment.

Notice that the Octopus seems to have a small tank behind the cab and a trailer?

I saw that, Bruce, but couldn't quite work out what was going on. Clear as day now.

Raising this to the top to ask whether the East Kimberley Transport Buffalo which Hi-Haul Transport purchased is being restored? Has anyone seen it at their depot?

AEC had a similar truck out here which was known as a Majestic.Drove one once and to change gears you had to nearly get up and walk across the cab,and as for steering it,it was nearly a two man job.You could put some pudding on it though as long as you din't want to get anywhere in a hurry.Cheers

Making a small effort to save the history of road transport in Australia by being in front of Simms

Hello
Yes Bill Smith from Hi Haul has a Buffalo and he is restoring it. I also have one complete with the Albion engine and the original Gearbox the rear axles are from a Thornycroft but I have managed to get a complete back end that would have been fitted when new. As for restoration it is quite a long way off. I am far more interested in restoring the twin steer Scammell with the 1100 cubic inch AEC motor first this truck is ex D H Rhodes.
