G'Day Leylanditis Sufferers,
Some more pics of the restoration of what will become the only working Buffalo in the Northern Hemisphere:
Rest are here: www.camionesclasicos.com/FORO/viewtopic.php?p=280283#p280283
Looks like a top notch job - the bed is being newly reconstructed, they didn't just sandblast it... The origin of the Spanish cabs remains a mystery, they're not like any Leyland or Scammell cabs I ever saw, but even the truck's owner doesn't know for sure.
Yes, I did ask later in the thread, and maybe someone knows here: was there a connection between the English Buffalo and the Canadian Leyland Bison? Interestingly, some of the later "Canada" Leylands look very much like the rebuilt Dales truck, with their International cabs...
Cheers,
T

Great job, dont know about the badges the photos I have show a smaller "Leyland Diesel" badge along there. Cab is a sensible size Swishy, it is only some Yank builders who insist on putting a 4' cab on a 8' wide truck.

Atkipete, Mammoth,
This is what I believe is a Spain/S. America spec Buffalo and they had all sorts of strange badging for these markets - I don't think someone put later (1970s) ergomatic badges on?
That chassis plate tells me somewhere in the Pampas of Argentina there may be one or two survivors...
Cheers,
T

I think that style of chassis plate was used over several decades, not just on ergo's. The 901 (15 litre) was the Albion horizontal dry liner version of the 900 and they only ever built one production vehicle with it (a bus). However, Leyland stood it up vertical and installed it in the Buffalo. Wonder what the V12 designation stands for.
