1932 Commer Raider was created by Rusty54

Hi all,
I'm making this post in the hope that somebody has some information, literature or resource relating to the Commer Raider. We have been able to find next to no information on these small trucks, with the Rootes Group Trust in the UK even unable to help us.
My Dad purchased this truck early 2019 at an auction in Bookham, N.S.W. Our plan is to get it running again and make necessary repairs to make it drivable.

It’s in good order, have you tried with just the commer name, someone may have put the raider badge on , I see it’s got full host of gauges too I’d imagine it was a upgrade, again nice truck

Rattie, if you read the ID plate it says "RAIDER" so I assume that is what it is. Pommies love gauges rather than idiot lights so they are probably original too.
Nice truck though and as you say, in good nik.

Looking for info - first look at TROVE...

“...A truck that attracted a great deal of attention from Show visitors was the Commer Raider chassis, exhibited by Overseas Motors...”

Hi Rattail, the Raider badge is original and in the correct position from what little I could find out about these trucks. The Raider is the smaller version of a 2 truck line up offered at the time, the second and larger having a different name (that eludes me right now) and was a 2.5-3 ton from memory.
Unfortunately the website that had that information seems to have disappeared, I saved the link at the time and now it doesn't work......
When you search the web for 1932 Commer there is a blue recovery vehicle based in the UK that pops up a lot. It has the same front but a full steel cab that looks a lot better made and waterproof.
The timber framed flat sided cab on our truck would have been an Australian built version I presume.
I did come across a photo posted on the Commer Owners Group forum of another Raider, but this one has a C cab design.
