Quiet for 24 h. Once the state is identified, the field should be narrowed fast.
The photo was 1980s. I can remember very little of the drive, probably because there was nothing to remember except this one feature.
It is the crossing of a waterway (creek or river).
In checking the distances, one map shows a town half way between the endpoints and calls the road a highway.
A different map doesn't show that town, and doesn't call the road a highway.
My guess is that it was dirt in the 1980s, and may have been surfaced since.
Another reference gives a state route number, but doesn't call it a highway.
I'm not planning to go back to check.
