I grabbed this one because I have found three suitable photos on the hard drive , and should get one up late tonight or mid morning.
It will not be a giveaway.
With the previous Kaniva, I had checked Dimboola, but it was a nonstarter.
With the earlier Dartmouth, my drive through the area was on the very lonely Nariel Upper road, on the other side.
For years, Camberwell Jn didn't have traffic lights: 'too hard to engineer', but had a policeman on point duty for every peak.
It is a six-way junction, with tram lines on five of the six.
I'm sipping a Coonawarra cabsav.

Here we go.
The only opening clue: not suburban Melbourne.
Unfortunately, the clues can tell you where it isn't, rather than where it is.
As usual, if it stalls I'll convert it to 20 yes/no questions. None of the earlier ones done that way needed 20.
I'm running this now because I have it prepared for a different specialist group, where it will be posted with a caption.
There must be some member who has driven over this road.

Morning all. Those are good starts from the available clues, but not right.
- Not an SA border crossing.
- Not Hay plains.
- Not Barringun (a place where I have been, but didn't photograph). On that drive, we came across a motorbike which had had its sump holed by a stone, and lost all oil. He was waiting for a friendly truckie to give it a ride to civilisation).
Unlike Buangor and Kaniva, this photo is not on a national A highway.

Have a midday update.
It isn't a border crossing, so a Qld/NSW is also knocked.
It is rather hard to say who is closest so far, so I'll say who is the most remote: geoffb with Hay Plains (another road over which I have driven, and a railway over which I have travelled).
