Greetings. Most of these were taken at DETCO as a first year apprentice with no car earning $32 [I think] a week. Close to work was a servo where the CJ Dean trucks used to park. Schrappel's had a 6-71T, the 'F' model had a 6-71 if I remember correctly and I'm pretty sure the Atkinsons had 6-71 engines aswell. Down the road a bit further is Arndale Shopping Centre where I took the photo of the S2. Next time

Thanks to Overlander for taking all these pics and PaulFH for posting them, they are most welcome on this forum.
The Mal Wilkinson Cabover KW was a real surprise to see. I worked for Mal, and the fleet was only V buses.

I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

Greetings. 9 out of 10 of these were taken at DETCO, with the C J Dean most probably down the road a bit at the servo. Odd thing is that these days I see trucks at work each day I'm there but I have no inclination to take a photo of them- seeing a Kenworth or White is an everyday thing- much different from High School days when the only Kenworth I'd see was Ansett's around tea time - I could hear it going around the Post Office corner and then gearing up to Grosser's 'S" bend then flat out cranking it towards Greenock so I'd jump up on the stacked wood at the back fence to catch a glimpse of it. Now I'm quite happy just working on re-building 6V53T's. Anyways, enjoy and by the way you didn't happen to go along Hanson Road did you 600Dodge??- multi cultural 'meat rolls' along there near Arndale.

Hayseed, I had a look with the mag glass and there is an International Harvester emblem above the grille. Educate me on the Norling- I've not ever heard of them. Pete

Norling repowered, regearboxed or performed other engineering modifications to brand new Inters, before IH were into custom building to buyers' requirements.
