I only know Strine with a few words from England thrown in, I have picked up the odd word from one or two other languages and I am enjoying learning Swishtopian.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Back to the Mack.

Anybody care to make a guess at what fuel consumption would be lightly loaded? 265hp turbo 6. I know it is what it is but nice to have some idea in advance.

10 MPG empty 7 loaded into a head wind

A coolpower Mack should get 6.5 with one trailer and 4.5 - 4 with 2 or more

Thanks Paul.

For those struggling with mpg and kml and km per 100 put this in your tool bar. It has conversions for everything under the sun. I use it almost every day.

Lang, I'd budget on 3km to the Litre.. everything over that's a bonus..

Thanks for that. About what I thought.

As the old man always said "Fuel is the cheapest thing associated with owning a vehicle". He started telling me this in the 60's when petrol was 2/6 per gallon (6 cents per litre). Probably still true with depreciation, insurance, registration and repairs.
