''Practise makes perfect'' or so they say. At least it is an easy fix and a cheap one too. When I had access to the timing mark pointer I always put a dab of white paint on it and in the notch on the balancer for easy reading at a later date. If the seal is just a straight forward oil seal then also closely inspect the condition of the pulley and where the seal runs. Look for any grooves as it should be nice and flat. If there is a slight groove buy a speedi-sleeve and fit that too. Very easy to fit and worth every cent to ensure a good seal. (pun intended).

You can do the seal with the cover still on the engine unless you really want to pull it off again.

Hi all. Just a quick update. Dad didn’t have a lot on today so we thought we should get the pipes working. Pretty happy.

I hoped that your Dad had something on especccccially if there is a video of it all!

My way of posting a video is to post it on YouTube then post the link. This maybe a 19th century way of doing it but it works in my head.

Hello there. Thinking I will never cart 3 tonne on tray so I am playing with the idea of getting some leafs taken out of the spring packs to both lower her a bit and make her a little bit nicer to ride in. I don’t have the tools to really do it safely so I will take it to a work shop but is this a silly idea, will it make much of a difference?

It will make a huge difference

And no it isn't a silly idea at all, will no doubt make it much more enjoyable to drive about in with no load on it
