So true, plenty of young blokes sowed their wild oats on a Saturday night and then went to church on Sunday to pray for a crop failure.

Girlfriend: "I want to donate some of my clothes to the people who are starving"
Me: "Anyone who fits in your clothes isn't starving"
I don't think she's coming back......

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

True story:-
When I was about 14 or 15 years old I often rode my bicycle after school to visit my Grandmother who at the time lived about a mile away. The lady who lived down a long driveway beside Grandma had a little YapYap type dog that would sit at the roadside and when I came along he would run out, come up beside me and nip my left ankle with his very sharp teeth. It hurt a lot. One day I decided to try to get him to change his ways.
I rode as fast as I could down the road and when I neared him, I lifted my left leg back as far as I could and held it there until the dog got up to the pedal. I then kicked as hard as I could. As I remember it the dog flew through the air.
Next time I visited Grandma she was standing on the footpath talking to the lady who owned the dog. Dog owner was saying "something must have frightened poor little Yapyap (or whatever his name was) as he will not come out onto the road any more." I could not look at either of them incase my face gave it away.

You don’t look at the mantle piece when you’re stoking the fire.
