Hi Dave_ 64
Well done thinking out side the square. Adapt, over come and achieve with virtually no money and a bit of grey matter. (You can't count time because it is a hobby). Thanks to the others for there feed back, it is all good reading.
Cheers Fill

Hi all
I think I might said that the only badly bit of rust was under the park light rubbers to day I got them ready to weld.

You do incredibly neat work Fill. I wish I had that sort of skill and patience.

Steve I was gunna build a jigger like that to do the Mack cab but some people convinced me to do it on the chassis for a variety of reasons and Im glad I did in the end because I think pulling it right down and apart off the chassis can make it turn into a huge job
I reckon what you built is the go if you have the time and room
I broke my back a few years ago and thought the twisting and turning might have been a challenge but I was surprised at how much I could get to with the cab still on the chassis
great stuff Fill and Steve

I hear the bit about a BIG job, taken far longer than I had expected.
Finally got all the panels back on, just have to refit all the door trims, make a new inner right guard, a bunch of fiddly bits, fit the air compressors and have the Engineer go over it. Chuck the old tray/well body on till I can get an Alloy flat deck sorted and hopefully registered

Hi all
I still giving the brakes a rest.I have them under control, but I have decided to get the cabin ready for paint.( which I wont be doing ).
I do heavy ark welding, but I like to get all my light metal welding done professionally.this is a picture of the park lights after welding

I do all my metal preparation. I wanted to fit lap and sash seat belts. The truck came out with one lap for the driver.
I am fitting mine own mounting. I have taken a lot of photos. to show a VAS engineer. (But I might play dumb ) I am happy with what I done. I guess if I get into trouble I can unbolt the lap and sash ones and put the driver lap belt back in only. I have had all the mountings professionally welled in.

The window rubber will hide the weld.
