Brocky45,
Most of it is not slang, it is English. Just because it is not American does not make it slang.

Several years ago, somebody on this forum (maybe it was you?) asked what language we spoke here. I replied that we spoke Australian English which is a lot closer to English from England than it is to English from America.

20 degrees Farenheit, given that freezing point is 32 degrees, is too cold for me, even though my Wife jokes that I would be comfortable living at the South Pole.

The forecast for the City I will be in tomorrow has gone up one degree to about 86 Fahrenheit, still, it is midsummer here.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

.
Not all that many moons ago when we were doing a fair bit of travelling around oz........
It was amazing how many times after we had just left home that we spotted a FREDS truck.....
It got to the point that whenever we saw one locally ,the wife would say , We must be on holidays,....

Recently our son and his wife bought a van and went for a shake down run...........
He sent me a text one day, saying, ....i will send you a pic of an old KW you might like that
we just spotted.................

And here it is ...................................................

Yep .....an old EX.. FREDS SAR full recon and looking a million dollars........

Yep......oh to be on travels again.....................

.......................Billy.........................

I CAME INTO THIS WORLD WITH NOTHING & STILL HAVE MOST OF IT.........................

I used to be a truck driver,
but i am now not a truck driver ,
on a good day i can remember
that i used to be a truck driver.

Spotted last night at the local speedway. When he left, he had that screamer singing sweetly.

A very neat unit!!! Looks like an early attempt to convert a truck into a motor home??? Did you borrow that picture from an American Hot Rod Site??? It looks to be a Pennsylvania Licence plate on the front????

Yeah, certainly was Brocky45, possibly from a Rod & Custom magazine from (vague) memory. I had it as my screen shot on the computer about 10+ years ago. I reckon my pop top roof in the back of my Bedford will provide better aerodynamics than the Ford.

PDU I think Rod and Custom magazine was was a lot more than 10 years ago. I remember when I was in high school in the very early 60s, and it was the small size magazine back then.
