I think the Thornycroft is a Big Ben model. It looks very restorable but I do not know why a timber miller's truck would have a Queensland Bus plate.

The collection of USA Military trucks looks as my Serbian mate says "Spectaculus."

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

The Thorny looks more like a Trusty, exactly like the one Lang had for a short time. I would imagine that it was used as a support vehicle for the busses, either as tow truck or fetching heavy spares such as engines.

Mammoth you're all over it like a fat kid on a red smarty. Definately a Trusty, originally owned by the Mossman sugar mill carting molasses, then by John Verri and co who had many agencies and interests in the Mossman area. The truck was donated to the museum by the Verri family a few years ago, still looks in fairly good condition considering its age

Some blokes would pay good money just for the door to hang in their man cave

Truth be known they would probably pay more for just a door than they would for a whole truck

Funny old world, thats for sure

If the Q/P plate belongs on the truck, it must have pulled a trailer bus.

Did Joe Marano appear in that deal somewhere, or were they competitors?

Out roaming on a late Wildflower run through the mid west of WA, found these 2 out to pasture. Could not see what the big A is powered by.
There were also 3 or4 rear axle assemblies laying around the yard.
Cheers Steve
