Oldfulla,

This is the last of the Maurie Sheehy photos.

This photo was taken in 1963/64 in Bendigo. All the Scrapers were being refueled after finishing earthworks at Eppalock Weir. There were 12 or 13 scrapers all together. The 'S' Model Bedford had just been reduced from a single axle semi back to a tray truck. This was the truck that did most of the fuel cartage to the Weir. It also did a load of fuel from Melbourne every night. The Scrapers were owned by Utah Construction Company.

I didn't know Verdon's had nice trucks. ::)

Anyway.
Spotted near BP Roadhouse Cavan (Adelaide).
(Junction Port Wakefield Rd & Port Adelaide Expressway)

Single trailer Road Train? :-/

A pair of single trailer Road Trains? :-/ :-/

On my way out, I saw a big crane in the nearby rail yard, off loading them to one end of a line with about 50 more of the same in place.
Iz all I know.

BK

Was talking to a bloke recently who had a White. He said it had a 12 speed Allison with a 3 speed joey box behind. Was on timber carting. Was the 1st time I had heard of a 12 speed Allison. He definatly said Allison Auto.

So dont know if Swishy might be talking about something different?

As I said - I dont know other than to have heard from this guy only 2 weeks ago. I'll double check next time I see him.

Finally got to talk to old mate who told me about his old White with the 12 speed Allison Auto.

This time around - he says 8 speed Allisons - then a bit later in the discussion it was back to a 6 speed. So his initial info was way off the mark - it appears.

He did keep with the story on the 3 speed Joey box behind the Auto - but then added 2 speed diffs to the mix.

Oldfulla - back on the job after getting a couple of fuel line blockages sorted at the hospital.
