Hi,

Saw him trundling past as I was havin' a sip of coffee and I thought 'Crikey, that as big a one of those as I've ever seen".

He was at the bowsers when I came out, so I snapped 'im.

I'd reckon the tail-swing would be interesting, the rear overhang looks to be a bit more than 3.7 metres.
a big trailer for only 2 axles, would be easy to overload .

cheers, Neil

I think Nelson Silo's used to have a trailer like that one.

A fella here in Bris that makes and then carts around those big poly plastic water tanks, has a couple of trailers like that. The empty trailer would weigh more than the load of water tanks could ever do.

Oh, a good stiff side wind loves them too, he reckons the trailers are always cocking a leg at every tree, when their loaded with big side on parachutes. :o

Hi,

Ahh, naturally, of course.
A "Tank Carrier" :-? ?

I have indeed seen such carters down here (Adelaide) but mostly just very light, very flat Astro turf covered decks with dips in them to rest the side of the tank in.

Yes, loaded they do have a big m2 area.
I suppose some of them would fall over during the course of a year but the tank being relatively cheap and easy to replace. . .
Pay your money, strap it on, have a go, take a chance and try your luck.

Stick a bit of ballast water in them?

A big 20,000 litre poly tank (the biggest you'd get on a trailer like that), weighs in at 300kg. Sarge and I manhandled one up a very steep hill a couple of years ago. I think it might've broken Sarge, he wouldn't come back the next year when I put in another couple of 9,000 litre tanks so I made my 80yr old father help me roll them up the hill on a 38 degree day in February ;D
