Vaughan's yard in Adelaide was at 100-102 Hayward Ave Torrensville, the suburb where I grew up!

I think you will recall that nearly every trucking yard in Australia was a "mess" in those days. Very few had sealed surfaces, let alone concrete. They were covered in potholes and puddles. Crap was every where - old timbers, drums and gear against the fence or in piles and often broken trucks and trailers with grass growing around them.
I remember driving out at some yards in low-low with the trailer squeaking and rolling with the chassis twisting as I negotiated the motor-cross track.
They had to improve, it could not go on like it was and hope to present a professional look to their customers.

Bob Wrights superb mid 60's steel rail 352 Pete, soon after it's overhaul.
Some 70's touches made for a smart looking unit.
I had taken the photos late 1977 at Vaughans, Keys Rd Moorabbin depot.
I was told many years later that the truck sadly met its demise on the Hum in the early 80's
Gotta click insert or they don't get inserted..... Sarge.
