Well she's up on blocks now
Some running repairs as she has to venture down to the big smoke a fare few times, I dont like going to the big smoke and not real keen about taking my soul mate Mrs Mack there but needs must so we will
Gotta start sorting out stuff for Mum after Dad passed away so Mrs Mack has to venture to places we dont normally venture to
So Mrs Mack needs some routine maintenance, ok stuff that I normally wouldn't worry about
So Mrs Mack has been pumping some oil thru the air lines for some time so a new compressor is in order
Front brakes passenger side stuck on last time we were in Townsville so new front brake shoes
New diaphragms in those brake chambers
New hoses for them as well, the drives were only done a month or so ago (could be 3 months by now)
New powet steering plumbing
Some new air valves etc in the ass end
Some new water lines to the compressor
And a jolly good bath to hide any sign of oil leaks
Oh and the range change went a bit dickie in high range so think thats oil on the air line filter but will lift the lid on that box to make sure all is ok
This will take the best pary of a week as Miss Molly the border collie isnt really much help
Oh and the tip turbine needs new bearings as it isnt doing bugger all at the moment
So I'll keep you all posted if you are interested

Dunno, for all the stuffing around and mess to get it off Im thinking a new one and hopefully that will be the end of the oil in air line issue
It builds air fine, but after a day theres oil in the second trailer when its hooked up as a road train
I drain the tanks every day but the oil is every where now
Probably should have done something years ago

Coopernook, The Centre of our Universe
Working on more play time.
That sounds like a lot to get done in a week. Just as well Miss Molly the Border Collie will be there for moral support.
Hell yeah, we are interested!

RE: oil in the air tank n lines
U need to fit drain taps to tanks n let m drain O/Night
the air start tank may have 2 B taken off to drain as the drain cok is 6" up from bottom
best to have a tuch of oil rather than water (condensation) in lines n valves etc
If it aint all th@ slo in building up air the compressor may B OK
Oil iz sukd up past the compressor rings when the govonor cuts out @ 120psi (may B restricted air cleaners (Dirty ))
we never remove the wheel n hub all together as it is too hard to handle n could damage wheel seal
best to run grease in front hubs as if the seal leaks U kno U gotta fix it sum timein the nex week or 2 not like oil U need to fix in an hour if u're lucky
some older mack valve kits R available @ Coburg trucks

Thats the way most things are today, and the whole lot is then new
All the airbrake parts are so cheap that no one even really stocks rebuild kits any more

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!
A Sweetie?
That's Miss Molly the Border Collie, not you Paul!
