That looks to me like a 650 M A N next to the blue Merc Prodrive. Did my first interstate trip in one of them when Rob did his stint with I P E C.

I think a reason there were so many European trucks in the car carrying subbie fleet back in the 60/70 era was there was a very high proportion of European drivers. It seemed every second one I met at a depot or truck stop was named Luigi. Yugoslavs seemed to be well into the mix as well. I think they were bloody hard workers, a lot milking the last drop out of very tired machinery.
