Frauline Friday

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

That LPS looks great.
The Unimog on supersingles looks a bit different.

Jarrod -
The car carrier with the escorts was a fella called John Arnold, he and his wife Heather (?) were very active in the old truck scene, I met them at Sandown truck show a few years back, lovely people. John passed away a year or two ago. My dad remembered him on the road as a meticulous operator, never wore shoes in the truck apparantly.
So on that note, here's what I have found of his pics- in later years he had a N10 Volvo, which must have been a magic step up from a 1418...
Cheers!
Rich
And you reckon the escort's might be worth something these days...
And while we are talking Car carriers- this was lenzoot transport, i remember them from when I was on the road. And another memory- the old Golden Fleece at Coonabarabran, was a "must stop" for us. Like it used be be in those days, we became quite friendly with the owners and the staff, went to christmas parties, and so on.
Shame that sort of stuff has all gone now!

Yep, Rich, imagine having one of those GS vans today, or the hardtop. My dad had a gold ZH like that one, in fact I owned it briefly (nice shape, except for the vinyl roof rot) and swapped it for the ASW project when both were worth about $750.
I really reckon the Renault 12 wagon is the pick of the lot, though
Jarrod.

On ya Pauly. Good old Stoney has a fairly broad sorta accent eh? Must have been interesting doing that international stuff, countires, language, signs, the whole caboodle would be an ever changing mystery..
Lets see what sort of German ladies I can dredge up...
This old girl is in Watchem Vic, waiting for a whole lotta love..
And I don't know the story on this one, it might be a 1918? or a 1923? Dunno.. but she's from back in the day when a car carrier was like that and a bloke could make a living out of 6 cars..
Cheers!

I think drivers from Australia honestly have no idea how hard must of been for those drivers in Europe and even more so the ones that went to the middle east from the UK
It wasn't unusual for them to spend up to a month away each round trip
