This pic is near Khancoban from National Library of Australia.
Southbound, I've never been down to T1 in a truck, but have been down past T2 and Sue City in trucks, and would love to try that trip in a float. I have seen photo's in the T2 power station of the Antars delivering the generator components under the overhead crane in the main gen. hall, 1/2 a klm underground, very tight area and quite spectactular.

The original SMA Antars were sold off at the end of the Snowy project, were fitted with tip bodies and worked as quarry trucks until they were scrapped. I was told this is a true storey and I may STBC.
The new Snowy Hydro Museum at Adaminaby and Phil Rye have acquired another two from the UK to replace the originals.

I believe there is a Bloke from (I think) Wagga who has one of those big Cast Iron grilles out of one of those 2 Antars.
Which is All that survives of those 2 trucks..

Thanks for posting that Swishy, hadn't seen that one before, a great story and a job well done Rex.

The drivers of the mighty Antars really enjoyed the comforts of modern trucks in their day.....

Comfortable seating.....

Space and good ergonomics all round....

Uncluttered dash and controls..........

Hayseed, last I heard that Grill had been passed back to snowy Hydro who then donated it to the Snowy Museum. Bruce
