Here is Chrysler USA/Australia colour list from 1950's. I would guess your colour would be the 1957 Dodge Truck Pontchartrain Green F1G 768

Find the long, thin tag in the engine bay. Most start with BERG, some with DLX (or similar) the numbers after that give the colour.

Not sure how far back those tags go.

Jarrod

The colour coded tags go back to the 30's and would be on this truck. I have had Dodges with the colour code stamped directly on the firewall near the body number but still on a tag as well. I assumed he has them removed, hence the question.

Thanks for the replies, the tag is on the truck however it is nearly impossible to read. I will put a picture of it on here later. I am having some rust cut out by a local panel beater who does resto work, he will computer match the colour using a scanner. Just wanted to know the colour to get a better match on the tray

Looks like Brewster green. Back then if a truck wasn't red it was green.
Those tapered rear axle setups…...
On the FJ, leaving the wheel still on the old man would loosen the side you wanted undone, just leave the nut on by a few threads.
Then he'd let that side's jack down and jack up the other wheel.
Out with the big sledge hammer and one hit on the end of the axle in the air and off would pop that one you wanted to remove.
Never understood the thinking behind that one but it worked every time.
Thank God axle design moved on to flanges etc.

Brewster green was a pretty popular name but went under numerous colour codes (probably different shades as well). No Chrysler products except a 1920's Graham and 1937 Chrysler. It looks a bit like a universal colour used by many manufacturers a bit like Monza Red found on the shelf at every parts supplier today.

Here is the Dodge green range for 1957. Looks almost certain your truck is Pontchartrain Green.

All does not matter if you are colour matching anyhow!

Next thing - cut some rust out of the back of the cab. This will be after the big fat man in the red suit comes around. Too many jobs to do for the better half!!
