The R 700 of Wettehalls must be a new truck
No grease plate on it and sitting very very high in the front
I wonder if it had the motor pulled for some reason ?

Great old photos

Overlander might be able to help, Swanny.
These photos were passed on to him by a friend,
who knew of his interest in trucks back then.
Just post them on the Forum for him.
Thanks for asking, Paul.

The Spiraflow mufflers on the ghosts were just behind the steer wheels. They were under the bumper bar on fuel tankers.

Swanny, I had a look with the mag glass and there is no muffler under the bull bar that I can see. That lot of photos were given to me from others who knew of my interest in trucks. Nifty gave me 3 of the photos of trucks he drove for James's- the Road commander and 2 of the S Lines. A bloke by the name of Goodchild had the F86- that truck was in a tv ad for the milk company many many years ago. I took one photo- the DETCO workshop in Launceston as it was when I worked there- check the PD4106 and the 6V71 Trans Otway Denning- the coaches/buses were parked at DETCO when not in use. I'm submitting some B & W instamstics this week so they are pre '74.
