I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

My last one from Bryce Courtenay (until I read another of his books)
You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.
Bryce says this was said by Presbyterian clergyman William Boetcker but often attributed to Abraham Lincoln.
I don't know, I am just posting it here.

Home is not where you are born, home is where you are prepared to die.
You can't have too many toys!

As an Aussie by choice not birth I couldn't agree more, which leads to another quote from a Graeme Connors songLove the country you live in, if not live in the country you love.

If life were predictable, it would cease to be life and would be without flavour.
