So I've finally got something to tow around. Will be collecting a TX Gyral in a week or so. Things are finally starting to happen.
My next question is regarding the Torque Amplifier. In which position (pushed forward or pulled back is it 'OFF'). No one I've spoken to is too sure as it's been years since they owned one and the guy I purchased it from wasn't even sure himself so left it where it was when he got the machine second hand.
Cheers

its on in both positions if that makes any sense whether its up or down its pump oil to the clutch pack
high is a direct drive and low is going thru the gears of the TA

You'll be better off leaving It in High. As they usually stop working in Low First..

Ok. Thanks guys. Makes senses that it is always operational as the seal in the shaft was leaking in both positions when I was trying to figure out when it was and wasn't operational. So is high pushed forward or pulled back? Thanks again.

Urchy mate, just give it a try. One position will speed it up and the other will slow it down. Most hi/lo setups are designed to run in high and are only shifted to low when you need the torque. Don't worry about hurting anything, just keep the oil clean, the filters new and don't use low to slow the tractor down on the road and she'll be right.

forward is hi
back is low
they where designed to be an under gear, work in high, use low to get thru the tough spots
i replaced the ta in my 886B after 7000hrs was replaced due to the input shaft chewing out, not the ta failing
