Yes Steve it is Bills Motor Parts that has the rings on oreder from NZ and already ahs the 2 new valves there waiting to be sent with the rings when they arrive.
I always enjoy my talks with Don when I chase parts from him, it would be so easy loose a day just sitting and having a yarn with him. The things that he must have done during long working life and the knowledge he has is amzing.
Thank you once again for that very special delivery today, it is a real treasure.

Thanks for posting the link. It does look like an SE model and the rare hard to find injector looks to be in one piece. Some people when removing the injector try to pull it out from the top like a normal injector and they snap off like one of mine did which was done by a qualified mechanic. In the instruction booklet I have they advise that you remove the head and prise it out from under neath.

E.I.E.I.O., the McDonald is going to go.
Finally today I was contacted by the seller who now has the ring set and the new valves so a quick direct deposit was made and they will be on the way soon. Not only that but I also found and bought a pair of new gib keys but they will need to be machined down in the thicknes by around 1/8" to fit. I asked the seller of the gib keys if he knew what the taper was on these and he said being an Imperial size the taper is 1/16" per 1" taper and Metric is 1mm per 100mm.
So soon I can get back to boring you with more dribble, sorry.

Cobba

Those tapers you quoted do not seem right. The Imperial is an angle of 1:16 while the metric is 1:100 surely they could not be equivalents for the same purpose. Maybe the metric is 1mm in 10mm which is closer to the money??

Cobbadog,
We are all very interested in your progress on "Old McDonald." A lot of us, me in particular, are envious of your ability and wish we were able to do things like that.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

The Standard International, (for Imperial countries) taper for Imperial Gib keys is 1 in 100.

If it is 1:100 either imperial or metric the 1/16 per inch must be for some other purpose.
