4.10 is a good ratio with 16" tyres. It will tow and also cruise happily at 50-55. (above which, it won't have brakes for)

Yes that ratio is fine, agreed. I just would like it to be happy at 50mph.
The current 4:35's make it pretty buzzy at 50mph (or 80Km/h like most reasonable people).

As for the brakes, being a 1 ton the brakes are surprisingly adequate.

While at a bit of a standstill waiting on parts I looked up a few more good old timey pics.

Sadly, of the 4 siblings, my Mom is all that is left at 81. Of course she's very proud of me lol.

I guess I never have said where the truck came from.

Its in a small town called Lancer. It is located in the south west of the province called Saskatchewan, in Canada.

With a population of 58, yes it is a small town.

Not too many in Australia that are smaller.

Edit, just found out it ceased to be a town in 2022 and is now a Special Service Area.

That pedal car, in the penultimate picture, would be worth a bob or two, these days.

I talked to my mom about that pedal car, she remembers it going to the small museum the town had.

I think my grandfather was making an instagram post with beautiful wife and all his cool stuff.

He was the person who brought the water tower to town, its still there as far as I know.
There is a string of small towns on that stretch of highway I assume they all become one management area.
Very quiet area.
