Hi Pauliey I have planned to go to this one for few years but have not made it. I think it will not have a swap meet.
The reason I will be going to this one is that it's big and there will be different trucks from what I have seen
Its also getting towards the end of the season for old truck shows for the year.
Cheers Fill

Well back into it after a delay!
Fuel Bowl was just a little full of shiiite, hopefully you can see the image.
Water pump removed and new gaskets fitted.

I have a serial number of 2288641 & an engine number J123259790 - I'm trying to determine if its the original 214 motor
any of you learned people be able to tell me if it is?

cheers

It looks like you got the start of the crap, reckon there will be plenty to follow, fuel tank clean might be in order.... I was smarter than that, just added clean fuel and new filter, looked a proper goose when we rolled to a stop with no go juice.  Managed a roadside fix.... got home and did some tank cleaning.... yep crap it was and yes the trail has just started with following the crap.
plan is to fit an electric fuel pump on as suggested earlier on this post. $70 for whole kit which will be good.

the water pump had a new gasket replaced and we thought that would do it..... argh but I was fooled by thinking this!
had to remove again and the backing plate is now with a good mate with excellent welding skills who is fixing the rusted holes.
the pump itself is going into the radiator shop to be reconditioned.

any tips on find the firing order on the distributor? I've got the order on the engine!!

you will have to work out
1) which way the distributor turns

2) when the engine is at TDC for firing. The rotor position will be for #1 cylinder.

Firing order is 153624 If you remove the rocker cover, get No 6 rocking, this is No 1 TDC firing. There should be a timing mark on the Harmonic balancer or flywheel, set up distributor, start engine and set timing with a timing light. HTH

I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

Southbound is on the money with the rocker arms. I have an old garage service book, will see if I can get a picture of the original lead layout.

Thank you Very Much Gentlemen!
The water pump is going in today for full service and clean which will be great, the fuel tank is about to be pulled off cleaned and refitted.
it will then be the distributor and timing!
windscreen and rear cabin window rubbers will be replaced next week.

its a bloody good feeling getting some progress!
