when we loaded @ BHP we looked around @ all the big toys n made our pidly little load look miniscule

they had Kress slab carriers th@ had the mirrors the size of a bathroom door

Aint been down there for a while but they did have 2 kenworths V12-71 powered about 3 m wide with low loaders with 4 tyres on rear about 3m diameter they could cart bout 100ton of steel coils from there factory down to there warf with a lead of about 4 k

Been realy quiet so back on the loaders.
Downside ... 12 hour night shifts, Like riding a bike
you never forget........

those haulmax truck are made about an hour from where i live

Basil's got some big bangers to play with.
We just recieved four of these V20 MAN's. Hiding under the MAN badges are Ruston RK280 engines.
Around 12,000hp @ 1100revs.
Wont get much change out of 4.5 million each.

These four are going into a 106 meter car ferry were building for a company in Denmark.
Ferry can carry 220 cars, 10 semi's or coachs and 1100 people at 45 knots. Slip along for a big boat.

Another kat for the posh people, eh? I remember seeing those overtaking us on the snail ferry from Dover to Calais as if we were standing still, too expensive for us cheapskates (and cut down on any profits made from the Jaguar bits we filled the van with, to be sold in Austria)... By the time we hit Calais, they were going back already. Not that it mattered, fully loaded and with a trailer on, you did not get much more than 90K out of the T5 VW... 12-14 hours from Calais to Vienna non stop, allmost Aussie distance, lol...
