now that I am nearly a old fart (some might say I am already there) I wish I was a young dickhead

The version of that, that I remember was (I think)

To become an Old Fart, At first you have be a young dickhead.
"Be who you are and say what you feel...
Because those that matter...
don't mind...
And those that mind....
don't matter." -

Woops, I forgot it was Monday, the day for my "Sometimes Sayings" It must be my developing "Old Timers" (altzheimers) disease. In my young days, we called it "getting old and silly" but these days there is a name for everything.
Don't laugh, I know my mental facility is declining, much as my body is. But what can I do about it? I have to take my hearing aids out to hear, my glasses off to read and cannot bite any hard food unless I take my denture out. I cannot climb ladders any more and am becoming very unsteady on my feet. I have not had a driving accident for fifty years but I worry that I will have another one some day.

Oh well, that's life.

My saying:-
If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.
I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

The bird that has the biggest bill is not the Pelican,
It is the Stork that brings the biggest bills.

Not a perfect fit for the thread but worth a look. This is a real ad from the 1950's.
