Hi Squeak, 135 ended up at distribution in Brisbane, was a slimline with an 8V71, if my memory is correct. The cab got burned and Re Car repaired it, back in the 80's. First truck I ever saw with a soft feel steering wheel, and had a Recar logo in the middle. It was actually a K 125.
I'm pretty sure 217 ended up at Refridgeration in Brisbane, was involved in a reasonably light roll over and written off.

Hi Rene, Australia is a big place with a population that is very small in comparison to America or Canada, so even large transport companies cart all sorts of stuff for anyone, in those days at least. The Containers we were carting were part of a contract with the Cotton Board, standard COSCO containers for export to China. We also subied for SPD and Brambles, even Linfox, all through Carpentaria, and these companies are the opposition, unreal eh, I don't know if it still happens today. Only time I ever towed vans was Refridgeration and Linfox distribution to Woolworths. At TNT Distribution it was all flat tops and tarps on rainy days, or ropes on sunny days. I'm still pretty quick at tying knots, I got a lot of practice.
Thank you bigcam for the detailed informations. It's very interesting. What kind of containers you was pulling...
standart QRX small boxes, shipping lines containers or TNT jumbo rail containers?
