By the beginning of 1971 Kenworth Australia was ready to take that significant leap from CKD assembly to building trucks from component parts. To help get things rolling 20 trucks, broken down into spare parts, had already been imported from America.
Suddenly they were dealing with up to thousands of individual parts per truck, a scenario that quickly concentrated the minds of materials staff as they began recording all the individual part numbers. Through this painstaking and detailed process they identified the parts that could be fabricated or obtained locally and those that needed to be ordered from overseas.

Correct, I was looking at the thread hayseed identified.
And are we correct that the one at the TAFE on this page:
www.hcvc.com.au/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1267525755/330
is the one Muzza was talking about?
And I don't think it's 400015 - that went to Shell NZ with a Cummins in it.

It is not one of the 4015** chassis delivered to TNT as all 13 of those chassis numbers are disc wheeled.....the TAFE one os spider wheeled.....could be one of the 7 40215* chassis though but my money is on it being 40105* .........
