Thanks for the update Lang, it's great that your tractor has finally been delivered, and i'm very happy to hear you are going to do the glow plug conversion.

Slashing wont hurt it at all and front blade will if you use it as a D9. Nice tractor Lang.

I reckon a bit of payback never goes astray with whining dogs and barking kids as neighbours!
Even better at 5 am!
On full song as well?
Just ensuring the guv'nors working, Lang

And those old inters at full noise sound soooo good even better with a straight pipe and enough load to open the governors a bit

Everyone in the street seems friendly except Arthur. Pity the tractor salesman did not knock his fence down in the dark while making his demonstration run for me. Everyone else likes the tractors as it gives them a rear outlook onto nice mown field.
I gave it another start this morning, really cold, and it did take a goodly portion of the Start-Ya-Bastard can before it self sustained. Once running not a wisp of smoke. The ID plate says 1970, a mere pup compared to the 1952 Ferguson it is replacing.

When you get the glow plugs sorted it should start okay
Plenty of glow, always used to glow until it was to hot to hold my thumb on the little mesh doohickie and they fire right up with no assistance

Hi Lang. That device on the inlet manifold appears to be a flame-thrower type manifold pre-heater as used on Perkins engines. I have not seen one on a 554 before, and the parts book does not mention one.
