That swaging will complete the job perfectly. I would make the drive to get it done. Chase down either a truck body builder or a panel beating shop that specialise in rust repairs.

I have seen a ute where aluminium "half round" moulding was attached to straight sheet metal to match the moulding on the original cab.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Thanks Morris, I have been considering various add on alternatives but will try to do it by swaging first - even if it takes me another six months!

Here are ebay tools from USA but I am sure Trade-Tools, Sydney Tools etc will have them here. You might be able to make the second one yourself.

Great video clips Lang, thanks.

Never heard of joggles before but it would seem joggle/swage to be two names for the same sort of thing. I realised the process but moving on to making the forms is the stumbling block for me.

I think that two strips of 3mm metal taped either side of sheet to be 'joggled' with about 10mm space between them should create the form required when pressed uniformly along the panel. This could be accomplished probably in a wide enough bender by bringing the upper blade down in a hammer manner to form the shape. A press could also be used but unfortunately I have neither to hand.

Maybe a mild bend of about ten degrees would create a clear fold line on the panel, this would create a clear mark to place the edge of one forming strip, flip the metal to place the second strip 10mm from the fold line and put it back into the folder for some gentle "hammer" persuasion.

Please bear with me, watch this space . . .

There is a YouTube channel called "Japhands kustoms" that shows different methods of joining sheet metal, mostly steel, he custom builds lots of different things, panels etc. using a lot of hand tools, also tig and mig and machinery. May be some useful info on there

Thanks Grumpy Gumpy, second one better, very clear explanation and natural explanation/presentation.

From what I've seen so far he looks to be a skilled metal worker. Useful for anyone to see his approach to things. Ergo good for those with time on their hands to watch his clips.
