I remember reading that somewhere, think it might of been in a Truck and Bus story on McDonald's back in the day
I wonder if it is still about somewhere today ?

Paul you mentioned some cool weather where you are. Tonight there is not a start in the sky and is why it is still warm here. Tomorrows top temp expects to be 14'c, bugga, what have we done to ourselves?

Thats the one, have read the ink off the few old Truck and Bus magazines I had as a young fella
Had only maybe 1/2 dozen in total but in later years I upped the ante and have probably 50 years or more right back into the 40's
I still have those few original magazines and they are completely stuffed but a lot of dreaming was done staring at them when I was young
There other photos in Truck and Bus of tge Detroit Devil on the float going to races and all sorts of things
I never realized until this forum that truck drag racing ever really happened in Australia

Last 3 posts re Detroit Devil, photos from Overlander's Collection.
Not sure why attributed to daveus6, but have seen that before.
Had to change these from PDF to JPEG for posting.
Have been away for 2 weeks, now to catch up on more of
Overlander's Collection. Enjoy, Paul.

GREETINGS. This Twin Turbo 8v71 was the first engine used in the Detroit Devil. Seen here with the "Supertuners" @ Detco Adelaide 1978. I got the photo from one of the blokes in the photo and he tells me they got a bit over 700hp on the engine dyno. This engine was removed and the Twin Turbo 12v71 was built up, tested, failed, built up again, tested and installed. Then history was made.
