When did you folks Down Under start going to 4 axle trailers?? A rule change on on weights for axle groups??? How do they handle?? What about tire / suspension wear when turning??

4 axle trailers had a brief stint back in the 70's but vanished pretty quickly, I think the rules changed and the benefits vanished
At a guess I would say around five years ago they made a come back, Im unsure what the extra weight is as I believe its a case by case type deal were the owner takes full responsibility for the trailer etc under our mass management laws, could have that wrong

Basically 50 tonnes GVM for single tralier; 77 tonnes for B double if both trailers have quad axles.

Note rear axle of each quad must be steerable

How do the new south wales regulators feel about quads? I have been out of nsw for decades but when I left you werent even allowed tri drive or tri dollies.
