earl eye 60's Michelin had steel belted radials available
n also U wouldn't wanna run to much overloaded on any axles coz of tyre failure when the sun came out

me thinks when U wanted a big float made U present the drawings n then theyd'd tell U how much weight would B alowd
they never did sugest if U go wider, longer or spread the axles u get more weight
so it twaz a guess n game

I reckon steel-belted Michelin truck tyres probably played a large part in the success of Bell Bros from the early 1950's to the 1980's.

Swish, Michelin introduced steel-belted radial tyres in 1948, and Bell Bros in W.A. had the Michelin tyre agency for W.A., from 1952.earl eye 60's Michelin had steel belted radials available

"tell doug [pct] that kingston road boss belonged the kieth marchant [ still around] and i was the only bloke the keg [ kevin russell ] would let work on that kt450 he was a great bloke a good mate and i miss him dearly . i no ya not a cummins fan but that sar wrote a brand new chapter in roadtrain history when it hit the track to isa !"

The kulnerra peterbilt was put into the PCT stable &became NO 10 of which Ibecame the driver & later owner when PCT sold to K/MART [kingston]. in 1980 I traded it for new road boss. The day I picked up road boss the salesman said your getting abluddy good truck I said to him if it'shalf as good as the one i'm giving you i'llbe happyand Iwas.
