Thanks Lang and David.
I did consider fitting an electric fuel pump to try and cure the problem but really wanted to find the cause of the fault. As you say fitting an electric pump is a good idea for vehicles that sit around and the fuel dries out.

I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

Yes they certainly are battery and starter motor savers on vehicles that get used infrequently.

Inter's looking great with the emergency service vehicle i9n the back, but I also love the Fiat in the background.

Thanks gents, I'm driving it a fair bit lately and enjoying the fruits of my labour.

There was a little wear in the sector shaft bushes so I've replaced them.
The 2 bushes were available online as they are a standard size, I made a mandrel (always a good day if I need to use my lathe) and carefully cleaned the parent bore, then the bushes went in nicely. Next was a light ream, sanding the high spots, assembly and adjustment.

A little wear there, gives a lot of play at the steering wheel. Typical of Ross boxes found in Inters and Studes, among others.
I have to do this to the bullet nose. The pitman arm moves up and down in the box....

    Nice work, Jarrod.

I bought a spare Ross steering box but it doesn't fit my ute and none of the parts fit either. Does anyone recognise it as I would like to know what brand vehicle it fits and put it up for sale.

This gear (and shaft) is also surplus to my needs so is up for sale too.
