I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

Getting there slowly, the winter weather in Melbourne has meant plenty of shed time. Still have the interior to finish yet.

I know it's just a bloody old Inter ute, but by God I want it. Absolutely fantastic job, particularly when you remember what you started with.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Thanks for the positive comments guys. I've finally got it out of the shed, gave it a sponge bath and got some photos in the sunshine.
Today I finished the lining in the ute back and sorted a couple of electrical issues.

Thank you. It has been a lot of work but I've become a bit attached to it now that it doesn't look like a project anymore.

I’ve started on the interior now. The dash is painted ✅
The door cards are now cut out and I’ll cover them in vinyl next. It won’t be a professional job but certainly better than the original which was Masonite painted green.

As a suggestion only as it is your project consider using some 1/8" foam under the vinyl, it does a better job as OEM.

Southbound,
A marvellous job. You should have it on the road for Yarra Glen on 12th November.
Cobbadog, foam under the vinyl is a good idea. It will look a lot better.
As far as I know, all car manufacturers since the 1980' s have used it under door cards, with thin plastic film stuck to the door. I have just started preparing the cab of my three tonner for paint, etc. and was planning to use stick-on sound deadening matting on all surfaces inside the cab. I expect that will be $100 to $200 worth of foam. I wonder if ordinary foam as you suggest would do a similar, and much cheaper, job. Any ideas?
